BAE Systems Supplies System in Connecticut (1/26/09)
The city of Norwich, Conn., Mutual Aid Group purchased equipment, including the First InterComm system from BAE Systems, to meet the emergency response needs of 17 fire departments in the Norwich region. A $282,000 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG), available through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, was used to purchase the gear to address and resolve interoperability challenges.

State Rep. Joe Courtney attended an event announcing the purchases and discussed the importance of the interoperability efforts and the implications they have on the community and potentially the entire state.
