Relm Receives First P25 Portable Radio Order Under DHS TacCom (6/26/12)
Relm Wireless received its first order under the previously announced Tactical Communications (TacCom) contract issued by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Totaling about $128,000, the order is for Project 25 (P25) digital VHF portable radios and related equipment. The order was competitively bid among suppliers of two-way radio subscriber units on the TacCom contract.

"Although this order is below the dollar threshold at which we normally issue a press release, it is significant because it opens the gate as the first order issued to us under the TacCom contract,” said Relm President and CEO David Storey. “It was also encouraging to win this business in direct competition against other suppliers on the contract. We have high hopes for this contract as a vehicle through which we can drive sales growth.”
