SELEX Elsag to Equip U.K. Helicopters with HF Communications (7/10/12)
SELEX Elsag, a Finmeccanica company, will provide Boeing Defense, Space and Security with HF radio communications systems to equip new CH-47 transport helicopters in the Mark (MK)-6 version, purchased by the British Ministry of Defense.
The system will feature next-generation automatic link establishment (ALE) capability, the international standard that allows rapid and reliable HF radio communications. The HF technology provides voice/data radio communications for avionic applications, across the 2 MHz and 30 MHz frequency ranges. It also features high-power transmission.
SELEX Elsag previously supplied the former CH-47 MK-2A version with HF ALE1G avionic systems.
