Relm Receives Potential $2.1M Order from BLM (7/12/12)
Relm Wireless received a blanket purchase agreement from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for its new KNG-Series and legacy D-Series digital Project 25 (P25) portable radios, mobile radios and related accessories for the VHF band.
The agreement has a maximum total value of $2.1 million over a one-year base period and four one-year option periods. The value for the base period totals $390,000 and the values for the option periods are $448,000, $371,000, $422,000 and $515,000 respectively. An order for the base period was received and fulfilled in June.
“As we have for so many years, Relm is proud to support the BLM’s wildland firefighting professionals,” said David Storey, president and CEO of Relm. “With so many lives on the line in critical situations, ours is a support role that our entire company takes very seriously, and one that we value a great deal. The BLM has relied upon thousands of our BK Radio products in wildland fire suppression efforts for over two decades; first deploying our E-Series analog radios, then our G-Series analog radios, and more recently migrating to our P25 digital D-Series radios. We are committed to our relationship with the BLM for the full term of this BPA and for many years thereafter.”
