C4i Secures $2.2M Australian Grant (7/11/12)
C4i secured a Priority Industry Capability (PIC) grant valued at more than $3 million with the Australian Department of Materiel Organisation (DMO). The grant allows C4i to accelerate development of its SwitchplusIP system in key technology areas aligned with Australian defense priorities.

C4i will spend 18 months developing capabilities core to both its product and key defense interests. The PIC grant is matched dollar-for-dollar and allows C4i to refine its VoIP technology to meet defense capability priorities including ATC civil/defense harmonization, additional support for multilevel security domains, support for larger and more distributed network-centric interoperable systems, and high availability in mission-critical environments.

ā€œC4i has invested over 20% of its revenues in research and development activities over the last two years and this grant allows us to continue the high level of investment to maintain our current competitive edge both locally and internationally,ā€ said Peter Harrison, managing director of C4i.

The company said the signing of the grant coincided with another award for C4i’s advanced SwitchplusIP communications system from an American defense contractor for an advanced IP-based communication system to be delivered to an international customer as part of an air surveillance system.
