Lemko Partners with Space Data on LTE Pilot License (7/17/12)
Lemko announced a partnership with Space Data in providing a Long Term Evolution (LTE) pilot license network in rural Alaska to meet Space Data’s imminent FCC 2012 buildout deadline. Lemko's LTE pilot provides a distributed mobile wireless network (DiMoWiNe) designed to keep rural providers profitable by offering the lowest total cost of ownership.
Space Data was looking for a single-site LTE network solution that is cost effective, simple to install and that can be commissioned to meet the FCC deadline. Lemko is providing an LTE pilot license network that virtualizes the core functionality. All switching and routing are moved to the network's edge, resulting in lower up-front capital expense and dramatically lower ongoing operating expenses. The system complies with industry-standard interfaces, is compatible with a variety of subscriber devices and can be upgraded to full mobility in a pay-as-you-grow approach.
