DAS Report Says Public Safety Will Contribute to Market Growth (7/23/12)
A new market research report outlines the shifting outdoor and indoor distributed antenna system (DAS) landscape and explains how public safety, Wi-Fi and small cells will be involved.

The DAS market will roughly double in size during the next five years, with an increase in the combination of DAS with Wi-Fi, public-safety radio and Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks, the report said. In addition, when high-capacity small cells such as picocells are more widely available, small cells are expected to replace macrocells as the primary signal source for indoor DAS systems.

"The global DAS market has been built on major venues such as airports, sports stadiums and tunnels," said Joe Madden, Mobile Experts principal analyst. "Future growth will be driven by new vertical markets, with hospitality, healthcare, university and high-rise buildings becoming a more significant part of the market.”

The report, “Global DAS Market: DAS Combined with Public Safety Wi-Fi and Small Cells,” includes in-depth analysis of technical trends impacting the DAS equipment market. A five-year forecast is included to illustrate the trends in Wi-Fi and public-safety adoption, along with LTE services.

The analysis provides:

• Separate analysis of indoor and outdoor DAS

• DAS solutions deployed in major venues

• Facts and statistics about market drivers in campus, hospitality and healthcare segments

• Information on the competitive landscape

• Local and international regulatory considerations

• A full chapter of company profiles
