Arizona 9-1-1 District Deploys Intrado Call-Handling Equipment (7/25/12)
Intrado upgraded call-handling equipment for 41 emergency call-taking positions in four separate public-safety answering points (PSAPs) for Maricopa Region 9-1-1 in Arizona.
An Intrado customer for the past seven years, Maricopa will replace the current analog call-handling system with the latest Intrado IP call-handling solutions. The new system provides the county with greater control and flexibility for all types of calls and is the next step in setting the foundation for an IP-based, i3-ready platform.
Maricopa Region 9-1-1 supports 26 PSAPs including the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Phoenix Police Department and the Phoenix Fire Department. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is the nation's third-largest sheriff's office with a staff of 3,400 employees and sworn officers.
“We are excited to work with Intrado on implementing the latest in 9-1-1 call-handling technology for our PSAPs,” said Liz Graeber, administrator for Maricopa Region 9-1-1. “We look forward to gaining better operational and maintenance efficiencies with the new system and setting the stage for future next-generation 9-1-1 capabilities.”
