EWA Subsidiary Allowed to Band Manage 220 MHz Licenses (8/10/12)
The FCC granted an application by Spectrum Equity Inc. (SEI) to operate as a band manager on certain 220 MHz licenses.
On Sept. 4, 2009, Access 220, a wholly owned subsidiary of Access Spectrum, and SEI, a wholly owned subsidiary of Enterprise Wireless Alliance (EWA), asked the FCC to assign certain 220 MHz licenses to SEI and grant a waiver to SEI of the limitations on permissible operations under the licenses that are the subject of the application.
On Sept. 23, 2009, Warren Havens, Verde Systems, Environmental, Intelligent Transportation and Monitoring Wireless, Telesaurus Holdings and Skybridge Spectrum Foundation filed a petition to deny the application. The FCC dismissed the petition because the petitioners’ “claims fail on the merits.”
The commission also granted the request for waiver to allow SEI to perform band management services. The full order is available here.
