Colorado Department Pilots 9-1-1 Data Aggregation Tool from Intrado (8/15/12)
The city of Thornton (Colo.) Police Department is conducting a pilot of Intrado’s Beware, a tool in public-safety intelligence designed to alert responders to potentially dangerous situations while en route or at the location of a scene.

Beware uses a patent-pending algorithm to search, sort and score commercial records from LexisNexis Risk Solutions about the people, locations, vehicles and properties relevant to a specific 9-1-1 call. This data is then aggregated, correlated and presented as incident intelligence in an easy-to-read and interactive, Web-based format complete with threat scores, headlines and “Be Aware” statements, all in seconds.

Intrado collaborated with LexisNexis and other commercial data providers to seamlessly integrate relevant information into the public-safety tool. Beware is a cloud-based solution that can be securely accessed anywhere with an Internet connection. Intrado also agreed with Intergraph to include Beware within its CAD and mobile applications.

“Traditionally, first responders, call-takers and dispatchers rely on local, state and federal records management databases as their main source for person, vehicle and other information,” said Steve Lowe, Intrado vice president, business development. “Beware provides access to massive amounts of commercial data not previously available to them.”
