Harris Wins $34M Contract in Maryland (8/21/12)
Saint Mary’s County, Md., awarded a $34 million contract to Harris to deploy a Project 25 (P25) Phase 2 system to provide greater coverage, including in-building coverage, for voice and data communications throughout the county’s 764 square miles.

The system will deliver a migration path from the county’s current Harris Enhanced Digital Access Communication System (EDACS) with minimal disruption to day-to-day communications during implementation. The new system also supports interoperability with neighboring agencies, regardless of frequency band.

The 10-channel system will operate at 800 MHz and leverage some existing infrastructure, including antenna sites.
