Kenwood Radios Certified Under FCC Part 80 for Marine Band Use (8/22/12)
Kenwood NEXEDGE and Project 25 (P25) two-way radios have been certified under FCC Part 80 for marine band use. These digital VHF radios can be used on marine band channels in designated areas around navigable rivers, on lakes, in harbors and along inter-coastal waterways.

This certification makes the radios ideal for use by government agencies such as law enforcement including fish and game and wildlife conservation, fire services, search and rescue (SAR), lifeguards and emergency management. Other users include utilities, power plants and commercial boats and ships as well as all port, harbor, lock, dam, bridge and flood control operations.

The models included in the marine band certification include the P25 models TK-5220K/K2, TK-5720K and TK5710HBK, as well as NEXEDGE models NX-200K/K2/SK, NX-210K2 and NX-700HK.
