Port of Tacoma Deploys Video Surveillance System (9/10/12)
PureTech Systems completed installation of its wide-area video surveillance system at the port of Tacoma, Wash., one of the largest container ports in North America. The port accommodates more than 1,000 vessel calls and encompasses about 2,400 acres of land on the Tacoma Tideflats, which creates a unique security challenge.

Security integrator G4S Technology helped deploy the geospatial video surveillance system. The system manages close to 100 cameras, providing both intruder detection and subsequent autonomous tracking on multiple pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras. Included with the system are integrations with the AMAG Symmetry access control product, Bosch PTZ cameras and megapixel panoramic cameras by Arecont.

Government Global Service provided the security system design and consulting services for the port project.
